Pilsner Urquell is proud to be the title sponsor of the 6th Annual Lucie Awards, the "Oscars" of the photography world, as well as the sponsor of the Deeper Perspective award recognizing the artist whose world-class imagery is supported by an inspirational story.

Pilsner Urquell is a child of both Bohemia and Bohemianism. The beer was born in the town of Plzen (or Pilsen) in Bohemia, a land rich in both human and natural resources, which lies at the heart of what is today the Czech Republic.

Czech people have always had a penchant for being able to see what others can't. The great astronomer and mathematician Kepler saw that the planets moved in a different way to everyone else. The surrealist photographer Sudek saw the most sublime beauty in the mundane. Then of course there is Kafka who saw, well, everything different.

When you see things differently, from a deeper perspective, with your own discerning eye, you can make those things that make life better. And what the Czech people make better than anyone else, is beer.

Making every year count is a great philosophy for making the most of all the possibilities life has to offer us, and here at William Grant, the makers of Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky, it is the foundation which underpins everything we do. Time spent in the barrel is what gives all of our whiskies, from our 12 Year Old right up to our famous 1937 Vintage, their own unique characteristics. The subtle oak and fresh pear of Glenfiddich 12 Year Old and the enormous complexities of our older whiskies are all the result of time well spent. And the perfect reward for a life well lived.
Difficult to find, impossible to keep, Séraphin Cognac, is a product of France produced by Camus, established in 1863. As cognac ages, precious quantities of spirit from the oak barrels, filling the air with heavenly aroma. This process is known in the Cognac Region as “The Angel’s Share” and is believed to be consumed by Angels who delight in a private moment of relaxation and enjoyment of the fine nectar.

The Harlem Brewing Company story starts about 86 years ago. Legend has it that during Prohibition a special beer was being made Uptown in Harlem that was all the rave! Said to be the brew of choice for the many great musicians and artists that flourished in Harlem at that time, it was brewed in secret, a well-preserved African tradition handed down from generation to generation. Named for that swinging Harlem neighborhood made famous by musicians in the 30s, Sugar Hill Golden Ale sings with flavor!
